Wake Up Early — Hotel Pickup at 4:00 AM

Breakfast Stop in Sicuani

The Easy Hike to the Poncho Ridge
By 8:00 AM, we continue on to the Pallay Punchu trailhead. The hike itself starts around 9:00 AM and is the easiest option of any rainbow-mountain tour — just 1.5 km and about 45 minutes to the ridge, with only ~200 m of elevation gain. The path is wide, marked, and gentle. What makes it tiring is the altitude, not the trail.
At the Striped Ridge
Around 10:30 AM, you'll reach the Pallay Punchu ridge at 4,780 m — about 400 m lower than Vinicunca, and much easier on your lungs. From here, the view is unforgettable: a razor-sharp, jagged crest streaked with iron reds, coppers, and greens, standing above the wide, silver-blue Langui-Layo lake below. Snowcapped Andean peaks frame the horizon in every direction.
