Wear hiking boots as the terrain on Pacaya Volcano can be rocky and uneven, and in some areas, it might be loose with volcanic ash and small pebbles. Comfortable transport. Guide was ok, although not so informative and engaging.
The pace is too fast. The hike is steep climb from the start. After a while some people decided to hire a horse. Our guide who was leading the group was walking quite fast and I could not keep up. And he did not wait until everyone arrived to start his narrative. So those who are slower than the rest of the group missed all the narratives. This is a moderate difficult hike, the guide says will take 1.50 hours to go up. We finished in 1.25 hours so he could have waited so everyone could hear his narrative.
