Tour en 4x4 por Acatenango – Aventura Volcánica sin Caminata
Sea testigo del poder de un volcán en erupción sin la agotadora caminata de 5 a 6 horas.
Este tour en 4x4 por Acatenango es perfecto para todo tipo de viajeros: exploradores jóvenes, personas mayores, aventureros de talla grande o cualquier persona con problemas de rodilla o extremidades inferiores. No se necesita experiencia previa en senderismo.
Experiencia en 4x4 por Acatenango
Su viaje comienza en Antigua Guatemala, donde nos reunimos en Tanque La Unión (el punto de encuentro puede cambiar debido a festividades locales). Viajará en uno de nuestros vehículos todoterreno 4x4 totalmente equipados directamente desde Antigua Guatemala.
Primero, nos detendremos en nuestra oficina en San Miguel Las Dueñas para guardar cualquier equipaje extra y equiparnos con ropa de abrigo (incluida). También hay disponibles alquileres opcionales como botas de montaña, mochilas, bastones de trekking y más.
Desde allí, la aventura comienza con un pintoresco viaje todoterreno hasta Finca San Sebastián. Después de registrarse con una foto de pasaporte, conduciremos durante aproximadamente 1 hora hasta los 3.400 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Espere baches, movimientos de lado a lado y vistas épicas en el camino.
En el área de estacionamiento, disfrutará de una caminata corta y fácil de 40 minutos hasta el campamento base, sin senderos empinados ni subidas cuesta arriba. A medida que se acerque, es posible que ya escuche o vea el Volcán de Fuego en erupción a la distancia.
Campamento Base en 4x4 de Acatenango
Se le asignará una acogedora cabaña y disfrutará de bebidas calientes, impresionantes vistas panorámicas y aire fresco de montaña. Desde aquí podrá ver:
- El Volcán de Fuego en erupción justo frente a usted
- El Volcán de Agua a la distancia
- Las impresionantes tierras altas de Guatemala
- Mágicos atardeceres y cielos estrellados y nítidos
Extras Opcionales
A las 4:00 PM, puede optar por unirse a una caminata guiada por la Cresta de Fuego para acercarse aún más a la zona de erupción (costo adicional, operado por guías locales). Esta caminata dura aproximadamente 1.5 horas por trayecto y ofrece vistas asombrosas.
La Mañana Siguiente
También puede optar por una caminata gratuita al amanecer hasta la cumbre del Acatenango (2 horas, empinada y desafiante). Después del amanecer, regresará al campamento base para desayunar antes de regresar en el vehículo 4x4.
Alrededor de las 10:00 AM, llegamos de regreso a Antigua y lo dejamos con recuerdos para toda la vida.

- WHERE CAN I STORE MY LUGGAGE?
Yes, you can bring your luggage to the meeting point on the date of your tour. After the pick-up in Antigua Guatemala, we will stop by a small Warehouse in San Miguel Las Dueñas where you can leave your luggage.
- HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO WALK?
- From Parking to Basecamp: This walk is easy and takes up to 40 minutes, it depends on your pace.
- From Basecamp to Fuego Volcano: This hike is challenging and takes about 1.5 hours to reach the highest point allowed at Fuego Volcano, plus the time you want to spend watching the eruptions, and another 1.5 hours to return to base camp.
- From Basecamp to Acatenango Summit: This hike is challenging and takes about 2 hours to reach the summit.
- IS THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTION?
We operate this tour for children 8 years and older. It is not recommended for younger kids. We may also ask you to complete a disclaimer form for any participant 17 years old or younger.

Overall very dissapointing. The information provided both times by the agency was incorrect. Firstly we asked where we could hire jackets, they gave us two places - however failed to mention we could hire jackets from the tour office before leaving - which would have saved us a lot of running around. Secondly, we were told we could not pay the guides in USD for the extra hike, which was also incorrect. The state of the campsite was disgusting. Beds dirty, the toilet was vile - probably had never been cleaned. Completely unsanitary - especially for a women. The food was also terrible - no protein in any of the 3 meals. We paid over $300USD for this experience and felt completely ripped off. The only positive side was the guides/drivers went above and beyond - despite the lack of resources they are given to work with. Would not recommend.
The guides were very attentive and friendly and made the experience feel safe and fun.
I really enjoyed my experience.The car ride up was smooth .The views are breathtakingly with so many chairs to choose joy the view
The guides were really nice and helpful. It was a unique experience with a rocky ride up the terrain in the 4x4 and the high altitude trek afterwards. Absolutely worth it for the views of Fuego from Acatenango. A truly unique experience!
